Karkade (Sudanese Hibiscus Tea)

Ingredients

• 1 liter room temperature water
• 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
• 1/4 cup sugar

Directions

1. 1Rinse hibiscus petals in cold water to clean
2. 2Boil 1 cup of water, then add hibiscus petals
3. 3Let simmer for 10-15min until the water is a deep red
4. 4Strain the petals out and stir in sugar while the tea is still warm
5. 5Let it cool, then refrigerate and serve over ice
