Martinez
The ancestor of the modern martini, this gin-based classic balances sweet vermouth and maraschino with a dash of bitters.

Ingredients
- 2 fl oz. Old Tom gin
- 1 fl oz. sweet vermouth
- 1 tsp. maraschino liqueur
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
Directions
- 1Combine gin, sweet vermouth, maraschino liqueur, and bitters in a mixing glass with ice.
- 2Stir well until chilled.
- 3Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- 4Garnish with a lemon twist.
