Vieux Carré
The Vieux Carré is a classic New Orleans cocktail made with rye whiskey, cognac, sweet vermouth, Bénédictine, and bitters.
Ingredients
- 0.75 fl oz. rye whiskey
- 0.75 fl oz. Cognac
- 0.75 fl oz. sweet vermouth
- 1 tsp Bénédictine
- 2 dashes Peychaud's bitters
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
Directions
- 1Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice.
- 2Stir until well chilled.
- 3Strain into a rocks glass over ice.
- 4Garnish with lemon or orange peel.
